Designed by Adrian Smith + Gordon Gill, the firm led by the architect of the Burj Khalifa, Jeddah Tower is planned to pass 1,000 meters, overtaking Dubai's Burj Khalifa as the tallest building on earth. Its tapering, three-petal form is inspired by the leaves of a desert plant.
Construction restarted in January 2025 after a long pause, with the tower now rising floor by floor. The plan includes a luxury hotel, serviced apartments, luxury homes, offices and the world's highest observation deck. It is the centerpiece of Jeddah Economic City, a new district in the north of the city.

Jeddah Central is renewing a stretch of seafront close to the old city, linking the Corniche with new public spaces. Its four landmarks are an opera house, a museum, a sports stadium and an oceanarium, alongside a marina, beaches, hotels and homes.
It sits near Al-Balad, the UNESCO-listed historic district of coral-stone houses, and is designed to bring culture and leisure to the heart of the city. Read about the city itself in our Jeddah travel guide, and continue north along the coast to the Red Sea resorts.
