The Finest Wellness Retreats and Spas in the Middle East

A wellness retreat in the Middle East can mean a fasting program on a Qatari beach, mud from the Dead Sea, a hammam in Marrakech or a mountain spa above the clouds in Oman. These are the luxury spa resorts and wellness destinations we rate most highly.

Healing traditions

Healing traditions, modern science

Bathing culture runs deep in this part of the world. The Roman baths, the Ottoman hammam and the herbal remedies of Arabian medicine all began here, and today's resorts blend them with sleep science, longevity diagnostics and nutrition. The result is a wellness vacation that feels rooted in place rather than borrowed from somewhere else.

For many travelers the ideal pairing is a week of treatment followed by a few days of culture: Zulal with Doha's museums, the Dead Sea with Petra, or Jebel Akhdar with Muscat.

Choosing your retreat

Destination spas such as Zulal ask for a minimum stay and set daily schedules; resort spas let you dip in and out. Most require booking treatments several days ahead in high season. Ask about medical consultations, dietary programs and whether children are welcome before you book.

Wellness is now an investment theme too, from branded wellness residences to entire destinations like Amaala. Our page on branded residences follows the projects to watch.
