Why Dubai
Gold has been traded through the Gulf for centuries, and Dubai built much of its early prosperity on it. How to buy gold
Gold in the UAE is priced by weight at the day's rate, which is posted in most shops, plus a making charge that reflects the craftsmanship. Ask for both figures, check the karat stamp, and always take an itemized invoice. Reputable jewelers will also supply certificates for diamonds and colored stones.
For watches, buy from authorized dealers so the international warranty applies; the brand's own website lists them. Waiting lists for the most sought-after models are common everywhere, and the leading retailers favor clients with a relationship, so an introduction through your hotel concierge can help.
