Emirates business class
The A350-900 is Emirates' latest-generation aircraft, and this autumn it takes the place of the Boeing 777 on two more routes from Dubai. On the Mauritius service, the airline's A350 carries 298 passengers in three cabins: 32 in Business Class, 28 in Premium Economy and 238 in Economy.
Business Class is laid out 1-2-1, so every seat has direct aisle access. Each fully flat seat comes with a 20-inch 4K screen, a personal mini-bar, wireless charging and a Bulgari amenity kit. Premium Economy, in a 2-3-2 layout, adds 13.3-inch screens, in-seat charging, priority boarding, a dedicated check-in area in Dubai and up to 35 kilograms of baggage. Economy passengers have 13.3-inch 4K touchscreens with Bluetooth connectivity.
On Sunday, October 25, the A350 began flying Emirates' EK570 and EK571 between Dubai and Kolkata, replacing the Boeing 777-300ER as part of the airline's winter schedule. Weekly flights rose from 11 to 12. Kolkata Airport marked the first arrival with a traditional water cannon salute, and its director, Vikram Singh, welcomed the larger schedule as a sign of growing demand.
From November 1, the A350 takes over the daily EK709 and EK710 to Mauritius. EK709 leaves Dubai at 7:55 a.m. and reaches Mauritius at 2:40 p.m.; EK710 leaves Mauritius at 6:30 p.m. and lands in Dubai at 1:10 a.m. the next day. Emirates also flies two daily A380 services to the island. Oomar Ramtoola, Emirates' Manager for the Indian Ocean Islands, called the A350's arrival another important step in the airline's investment in Mauritius.
