Ras Al Khaimah Tourism 2030: Mountains, Islands and Wynn

Ras Al Khaimah tourism is growing faster than almost anywhere in the region. The emirate's tourism authority aims for about 3.5 million visitors by 2030, powered by the Wynn resort on Al Marjan Island, new beach hotels and the adventures of Jebel Jais, and investors have taken note.

RAK plan in brief

The RAK plan in brief

Ras Al Khaimah does not publish one single document called a 2030 vision. Its direction comes from the Ras Al Khaimah Tourism Development Authority's destination strategy, alongside the emirate's wider economic plans. The headline, set out by the authority in late 2025, is to roughly triple visitation to about 3.5 million guests a year by 2030, while keeping the emirate's focus on nature, adventure and sustainable tourism.

That growth rests on a doubling of hotel rooms in the next few years and a handful of transformative projects. It fits within the national plan on our We the UAE 2031 page; see the national visions of the Middle East for the region.

What it means for visitors

Ras Al Khaimah combines beach resorts with real mountains, ancient sites and desert, all within an hour of Dubai. It is a natural choice for active travelers and families. Days can start with sunrise on Jebel Jais, continue with a visit to Dhayah Fort and the old pearling village of Al Jazirat Al Hamra, and end on a quiet beach on Al Marjan Island. The cooler mountain air makes the emirate a pleasant base even in the shoulder months, and its golf, spas and desert camps round out a longer stay. What it means for investors

Al Marjan Island has become one of the UAE's most watched property markets since the Wynn announcement. Freehold ownership is available to foreigners in designated areas, and a casino resort of this scale typically brings new hotels, restaurants and jobs to the surrounding district. Prices remain below comparable waterfront addresses in Dubai, though they have risen quickly. See Ras Al Khaimah Luxury Real Estate on Al Marjan Island and investing near landmarks.
