King Salman Park and the Sports Boulevard

King Salman Park is set to be one of the largest urban parks in the world, and with the Sports Boulevard it will give Riyadh a green heart and a 135 km route for walking, running and cycling. Both are central to Saudi Vision 2030's plan for a more livable capital.

What King Salman Park is

King Salman Park is being built on the land of Riyadh's old airport, in the middle of the city. It is planned as one of the largest city parks anywhere, several times the size of New York's Central Park, with gardens, lakes, valleys, a golf course and thousands of trees.

At its center is the Royal Arts Complex, with a national theater, concert halls, an opera venue, museums and galleries. Around the park, new homes, hotels and offices are planned. It is one of four major Riyadh projects launched in 2019, together with the Sports Boulevard, Green Riyadh and Riyadh Art, under Saudi Vision 2030.

Sports Boulevard

The Sports Boulevard

The Sports Boulevard runs across Riyadh for about 135 km, from the Wadi Hanifah valley in the west to Wadi Al Sulai in the east, following one of Riyadh's main east-west highways for much of its length. It brings shaded walking paths, cycle tracks, horse trails, sports parks and arts installations to the city, with venues for tennis, padel, skating and extreme sports along the way.
