The new MICHELIN Guide Dubai counts 20 Michelin star restaurants in Dubai, keeps two at three stars and promotes a local favorite to two, giving anyone planning a Dubai luxury vacation this winter a clear map of the city's finest tables.

Fifth edition
The roster of Michelin star restaurants in Dubai was revealed on October 6 at a ceremony held at Atlantis The Royal on Palm Jumeirah, marking five years of the guide in the city. The selection now lists 122 restaurants across 38 types of cuisine, almost twice as many as when the inspectors first arrived, and 20 of them hold at least one star.
For travelers, that depth matters. A few years ago a serious food lover might have planned one memorable dinner in Dubai; today the city can carry an entire trip, from a quiet tasting counter to a celebrated chef's dining room, with relaxed Bib Gourmand addresses in between. Our guide to the best restaurants in the Middle East follows every starred table in the region.

Michelin star restaurants Dubai
Both of Dubai's three-star restaurants kept their rating. FZN by Björn Frantzén, the Swedish chef's intimate address at Atlantis The Royal, remains one of the most sought-after reservations in the city, while Trèsind Studio continues to reimagine regional Indian cooking as a precise, small-format tasting menu.
The headline of the evening was Orfali Bros, the creative bistro run by three brothers, which moved from one star to two. It joins three restaurants that retained two stars: Il Ristorante – Niko Romito at the Bulgari Resort, Row on 45 high above Dubai Marina, and STAY by Yannick Alléno at One&Only The Palm.
New stars
Fourteen restaurants hold one star, two of them for the first time. Birch offers a contemporary menu cooked in an open kitchen, and KIGO serves seasonal Japanese cooking; its team, led by Akinori Tanigawa, also took the guide's Service Award.
Fine dining in Dubai is only half the story. Four restaurants joined the Bib Gourmand list, which rewards excellent cooking at a moderate price: Middle Child, S.E.A Bistrot, Three Bros and YUBI Dubai, bringing the total to 22. Thirteen more restaurants entered the guide as MICHELIN-Selected.
Other awards went to Gonzalo Platero and Window in Alserkal for Opening of the Year, to Ninad Jani of avatāra for the Sommelier Award, and to Zahra Erfanian Azmoodeh of Carbone Dubai for Exceptional Cocktails.
Planning a Dubai luxury
The cooler winter months are the most pleasant time for Dubai, and also the busiest for its best restaurants, so book starred tables several weeks ahead; see when to visit the Middle East. Many of the most celebrated dining rooms sit inside the city's great hotels, which makes it easy to pair a stay with a reservation: our guide to Dubai's luxury hotels covers the Palm, Downtown and the beach.
Among the most rewarding things to do in Dubai is to balance one landmark dinner with a lunch at a Bib Gourmand and an evening of private dining at your villa or on a yacht, arranged through our private chefs and catering partners.
A few practical notes help the evening go smoothly. Tasting menus at the top tables tend to run for several hours, so plan a late start and an unhurried night, and arrange a car home rather than a taxi line. Smart dress is expected in most of these dining rooms, licensed hotel restaurants serve wine, and pairings are often as considered as the food. Mention dietary needs when you book; kitchens at this level are used to accommodating them gracefully.

Orfali Bros rose to two stars, Birch and KIGO earned their first star, and Middle Child, S.E.A Bistrot, Three Bros and YUBI Dubai joined the Bib Gourmand list.
For three-star tables in the winter season, several weeks ahead is wise; Bib Gourmand restaurants are usually easier to book at short notice.
